Try Dives

FANCY TRYING SCUBA DIVING BUT NOT QUITE SURE IT'S FOR YOU?

THEN COME AND HAVE A 'TRY DIVE' WITH US!

One of our friendly and experienced instructors will guide you through a comprehensive introduction to scuba diving so that you can find out how it feels to breathe underwater wearing full scuba kit.

Almost anyone from the age of 12 upwards can learn to dive, as long as you’re a reasonable swimmer and in good health!

You must complete a medical declaration before entering the water.  You can download the medical form by clicking here to check you don't have any of the conditions that would prevent you from being able to participate in a try dive without approval to dive from a medical referee.  If you do, don't worry as you may still be able to do a try dive, but you will need to provide written approval from your medical referee before we can take you into the water.  Please download, print and complete the medical form and bring it along to your try dive.

Try dives cost £20 and take place on Thursday evenings in the Quarry Pool.

To book a try dive or to have a chat about what’s involved, why not Book a Try-Dive.

Alternatively, just pop along and see us one Thursday evening, in the upstairs cafe at The Quarry Pool in Quarry Park, Shrewsbury, between 7.30pm and 9pm.

Shrewsbury Sub Aqua Club offers a full range of BSAC scuba diving and snorkelling courses and qualifications. If you enjoy your Try Dive, talk to us about doing a SCUBA diving course.  We usually run two courses a year starting in February and October.

Lessons involve a mixture of theory and practical studies. The first hour of each week’s training usually takes place in a lecture room at the Quarry Pool in Shrewsbury, followed by an hour’s practical lesson in the pool itself.

See the calendar for details of forthcoming courses. Courses last around 8 weeks and at the end of the training, divers go out with instructors to either inland and ocean dive sites to complete their open water training.

Hope to see you soon!
