On 18 & 19 November, five Ocean Diver trainees put all the skills they had leaned over the last six weeks in theory and pool lessons to the test when they had their first dives in Capenwray Quarry. Following the new syllubus, four open water dives are required to demonstrate the essential skills they have learned in mask clearing, demand valve recovery, alternate source, controlled bouyant lift and, of course, basic bouyancy control.
The weather was lovely - cold but sunny and Capenwray was busy! All the students sucessfully completed their training and got a chance to dive the various attractions placed in the bottom of the Quarry. Much fun was had by students and instructors alike with entertaining pub games after dinner an added bonus! Well done to all our students and thanks to the hard work put in by the instructors.
